Jewely Jewel Tones

Me again.  I'm back today with another Moxie Fab World color challenge.  Ok, let's get the tongue twister out of the way, this is for the Jewel Tones Color Challenge for Color Inspiration for Card Makers Week in the Moxie Fab World (he, he)  I'm also entering this into this week's Create:blog challenge to use butterflies.  The colors look something like this.

I just have to vent for a second.  When I went to the scrapbook store, I took a print-out of the colors with me that included the names of the colors I was looking for.  Of course, they didn't have the blue in this, so I had to go by my print-out to try and match it.  Well, when I got home and looked at it on my computer screen, the color I had picked looked nothing like the swatch.  Soooo, all that to say that my blue is a little bit off - frustrates the poop out of me, but I'll deal.  Ok, venting done.  So, here's what I came up with.

I saw a tutorial on how to make this glittery butterfly somewhere, but wouldn't you know that when I went back to look for it, I couldn't find it.  I hate not giving credit where it's due, so if anyone knows where this was from, let me know.  To create it, I stamped black staz-on onto a transparency sheet.  I then flipped it over and used glossy accents to add the glitter on the back side.  I added the jewels and the pins for the antennas.  The picture doesn't do the glittery goodness justice.    The butterfly and sentiment are from the Healing Wings set by Skipping Stones Designs.  Whaddya think?  I can't decide if I like this one or not.  I had a bit of trouble with this batch of colors.  Ok, off to work on the rest of the color challenges AND the new pub call for Stamp It!  Yea!  I {heart} stamping (but you already knew that). :)

  1. That butterfly is just scrumptious, Jax! So, why does one use glossy accents for the glitter rather than just a regular glue pen? Love your stitching!

  3. For this challenge, I had trouble matching my blue cardstock to my printout, too!! And I was totally off as well. So I can relate! But your card is gorgeous regardless of the shade of blue you used. :)

  5. Your 'stained glass' butterfly is beautiful! The layout is cool, and I like how you framed your sentiment with those skewed border punches.
